Question mega memory = AR2 v2?

Hi've just picked up a datel 8mb memory card. Every time you use it, you have to use a cheat/boot disk to activate the card,(thank f**k i only use it for the games with cheats on the disk!). The box states that its powered by AR2 v2. You boot games with the same procedure as my mates AR2, so does anyone recken it would work if i used it on my v5 uk ps2 in conjunction with a no-solder mod,it would save me £25(i know i'm a cheapskate )
thanks alot to anyone who might no.

it works as a simple bootcd, but wouldn't work for dvd-r, for example. it'll do cdr, tho.

The 16mb Memory Card I have is similar, and you need to use the annoying boot disk when loading, but fortunately you don't have to when using a GameShark. (Which I need for backups anyway!) Oh well, a small price to pay for twice the memory.
