Oblivion Error

Alright....I have Oblivion installed. The game loads up to the Main menu, and I click "New Game". I watch the cutscene and at the end of the cutscene, the game crashes. I get a Microsoft error report....I've also tried restarting my computer....and also have uninstalled and reinstalled....I'm using "The Elder Scrolls 4 v1.0 (v1.0.228) [ENGLISH] No-DVD/Fixed EXE".

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to correct it....the cutscene runs fine until the very end....when it goes black after it zooms into the prison window....

Try without a crack, read the FAQ, contact the publisher.

The crack works fine for me.

Yeah...the game works fine without the crack....I just have two computers (one on second floor and one in basement) and don't want to have to carry the disk back and forth.....

You don't carry the disk at all as the EULA, most probably, prohibits using the game on multiple computers with only one original purchased; read it!

But you do know that no one is coming from the game company to see that you have, do you? Buying 2 copies of the game is really only needed with games like Guild Wars or FIFA 06 or Joint Ops:TR, when the Key is only for 1 install/account. Are you going to buy 2 Oblivion games for 2 comps? Seriously? EULA or no EULA, no one with middle budget income will buy 2 in a million years.

Oh look we havent seen him for a while, the guy who knows all.


Wether if they dont check or not Kassad, it is still against the EULA which the guy agreed to, and thus not supported here.

Copy "cracked.exe" to game folder, launch the game from gamefolder with "launcher.exe" and reduce your video settings, save settings and play, the bug is out. next time lauch game normaly from desktop shortcut. Same bug apear with original.exe and dvd in drive.

Have fun is just a graphic issue..

@InfiniZ/Kassad: If you look at the Licence for Oblivion it states under the Licence Conditions:

(d) Except as otherwise specifically provided by the Software or this Agreement, use or install the Software (or permit others to do same) on a network, for on-line use, or on more than one computer, computer terminal, or workstation at the same time;

So you CANNOT install or even use it on two computers as the Licence prohibits you doing that. So you either leave it one computer or uninstall it and reinstall it on the other computer!

Yeah, I know nobody will know if you do install it on two computers at the same time, but the Licence is a legally binding contract and you break it by running it on two computers, and by doing so, you have to destroy the entire game i.e. the box, the discs, the manuals the whole nine yards as that's what the TERMINATION section of the Licence states

Where did you get the game from?

If there's a mini image available for this game then get it from any of the sites carrying cracks. If there's none available, create one on your own. For both, see the FAQ.

I have exactly the same problem, although I'm just running from the game desktop shortcut.
I have no idea about the crack I see further up in the thread.

I wouldn't call me a techie so just looking for plain advice how I can play this game

Are you trying to run the game on a geforce 4 mx or or similar? I had the same problem until I changed the card and then the problem gone
