WH40K: Dawn of war (General Discussion)

Hello Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War players!

I searched the forums and i only found crack requisitions for this game, and not a single topic discussing the game AS IS.
It is a great game in it's profession, and it is worth to buy, I think. Although I have a few issues:
Just to quote the StarCraft's hero: "This is not Warcraft in space"
Well, yes it is! Orcs from Warcraft, Brotherhood Marines, a combination from Warcraft and StarCraft, and the Elda, who cant't say they not related to the Protoss. Well Relic tried to combine the all-timer RTS games in one. I can't say they failed, but there are some problems with that.

First, what are the orcs doing in a future based RTS? They can't even talk properly for god's sake! (well, thats the funny part. Their talking is so funny, I started some missions over and over again, just to hear the orcs dialogue in da moviez ) Besides, the orc units and buildings are a bit childish. (That WAAAGH! banner is so lame, if you ask me). I didn't played the board-game form of Warhammer, but I think the orcs have nothing to do in this game. It's illogic. Flame if you will, but I stick to this opinion.

Second, the units are not balanced. A single space marine squad can anihilate a whole truckload of orcs and elda without moving a finger. If they upgraded properly, they are the ultimate weapon. Sure, they can be defeated, but that requires some heavy artilery. And the orc superunit, that transporter animal or what. Now that's a joke. On a mission i ecountered one, and I can say, I laughed a lot. It took down 4 dreadnought, 3 whirlwind tank, 4 fully upgraded space marine squad and lotsa turret all by itself. Finally, only my main base's defense could stop it. I know it's a superunit but it destroyed nearly all my outposts and the half of my main base. It is too strong.

There are no limit of resources. The game could last forever if i just fortify my base and wait for the enemy to use up all their resources and then attak them(don't laugh, it's a good strategy). It seems, their requisition never depletes. They just keep coming, and i have no option just to stay in my base and try to withstand the attaks. If I break out and manage to get a strategic point, they attak until i lose it, and i flee back back to my main base, beaten. I played pretty much with strategic games but this is rediculous.

The voices are brutally ****! Especially the Elda voices. They sound like they are talking from a tin can. But this stands for the marine voices too. The orc voices are allrigh, though they only say waaagh .

Ok, enough with the bad things. The graphics are fantastic! The modells are beautiful and the anims are great! Bravo boys, good work! I never seen a RTS with graphics this great.
The movies are fantastic too. The intro was a shock to me, in the good meaning. I couldn't say anything for minutes, and then I only said "coooooool!" The in game movies are somwhat generic, but still beautiful, even they are engine-rendered. Hurrah for DX9
The missions are difficult enough, somwhat too difficult for normal mode, but still good. The covers are a good idea! It gives much chance to use some strategy.

Phew, it was a looooong novel. If anybody interested to ask or say something about the game, post it here!
