unplugged mod chip!
i need to know if you have a X2lite modchip ready to go and you have the wires already soddered in an all you have to do is clip in your mod. i was wondering if you didn't hook up the mod would the xbox still boot up normally or do you have to hook up the mod and use the on/off switch.
the reason i ask is that i have a mod with the wires installed but the mod is not working(flashing red/green). i'm pretty sure the sodder job is good but i'm not sure. the mod doesn't work at all it seems, not even with the mod hooked up and turned off. so i don't know if i have a bum mod, if the soddering is crap or if the mod was exposed to static of something of that nature.

Will your XBox boot with out your modchip pluged in?
Also that XBox will not look for a diff. BIOS unless the D0 is grounded out. See what the DO is grounded the XBox looks to the modchip for a BIOS to load, and when its not grounded it looks to the TSOP for it. Now if your XBox boots with out the modchip in place that means there some thing wrong with your chip, or maybe one of the wires. If it dosen't boot with the chip than some thing get messed up when you were soldering. Go back and look at every trace near the D0 and the LPC points, maybe a very small peace oh hot solder dropped off and is shorting the traces.
