Philips burner problem!!
Hi ppl, I have a PhilipsPCRW404 burner, and every time I try to burn a cd, I get 'buffer underun' or 'logical block adress out of range' error msg's with burning programs like CloneCD CDRWIN, Nero, Fireburner, blindwrite etc...could this be the cd's problem? (I used Dr.Hank, and Sony cd's) I'm also using the forced 4.60 aspi drivers. Or maby the burner is just old, i bought it back in 99...
This burner is on a P2 300mhz(i know, i know), w/ 256ram, an' windows 98se. And the burner worked-almost-perfectly till a while back.. Thanks for any help

Your burner most likely lacks any burn-proof features. When your computer cannot provide the data to the cd-writer when it needs it, then the burn process is forced to stop as it has nothing to write. Without burn-proof the burn proof fails as it cannot accurately pick up where it left off.
The reason you are getting buffer underruns is due to a few factors. Firstly, your processor is very slow and may not be able to keep up. Secondly, your hard drive may be very fragmented so finding the data to write may take too long. Run Disk Deframenter to fix this. Ur memory is fine for cd-writing. If you still experience problems after defragmenting you should either purchase a new processor or burn at lower speeds.

guess I'm gonna have to get a new burner (and a new comp), since I already defragmented the HD, tried burning as low as 2x to no avail
.Thanks
