Unhappy Mini 50k Help! (also apple 50k)

Hey,

I'd already purchased this chip before I saw this forum and viewed the thread on how this chip is dodgy. Anyways, I installed the chip and booted up but nothing at all happened, the lights on the front of the ps2 came on as normal but nothing came up on the TV. I opened the ps2 up again and realised that the metal heatsink fingers may have been touching some of the points on the modchip pcb. I stuck a bit of tape over the points and turned it back on and this time got to a black screen (with the usual white horizontal interference lines flashing across the screen) but no browser came up. Is my chip stuffed or am I missing something obvious?

I've uninstalled the chip now and fortunately the ps2 works fine.

Thanks heaps for any help you guys can give!

Jim

ShadowKnyght is an unknown quantity at this point
possibly fried the chip - or it was not soldered fully in - i.e. dry joints.
