Neo 2.5 DVD Boot Problem

I have installed a Neo 2.5 DVD mod chip in my PS2 Version 4. I am able to play PSX originals, PSX backups and PS2 originals and PS2 backups. I am having a problem with PS2 DVD Backups.

I am using a GS2 version 1.93

Here is my problem:

a. I press the reset until both lights are flashing
b. the GS2 menu appears and the GS ejects
c. Replace GS2 with PS2 DVD original (grand Theft auto III)
d. I press "start game" then "without codes"
e. At this point I expect the tray to open but all that happens is the blue light flashes. Kind of sounds like it is going to open but no go.

I know when I installed the chip, I soldered the black wire (1) to the opposite side of the fuse as directed in the diagram. I did this because I pulled the solder off the other side by mistake. Could this be the problem? If so, how can I get the wire to stick to the fuse now that I pulled off the the solder that was there?

The PS2 works fine otherwise.

Is there anything that tells what each of the 5 wires are for?
