PS2 disassembly problems

Model SCPH 30001

Trying to install a Messiah2 Pro chip. Now it appears there are a few soder points at the bottom of the motherboard. Now to get to it, it looks like i must unsoder 4 pin power things. I can't do this......its not easy.
I have not found any good tuts on this model. All i have found, just get to boards top side.
Now is there a newer PS2 model, that does not require this? Is there a easier model to mod with the Messiah2 ?
