How do you boot up gta vice city using the action replay v2 cartridge

this disc is a dvd not ripped

I usually hold the reset button in until the action replay v2 cartride boots up
Then i release the reset button the draw opens and closes
Then I select start game with no codes change the disc for the "back up copy" and it boots up straight away
But this dosn't work with the dvd gta vice city
Any ideas

What mod chip are you using with the AR2?

Ive got Vice city and the neo 2.2 using ar2 boots perfectly, what original game are you using?

How do you boot it up using a original game ??

I've got gran turismo 3, quake 3 & ridgeracer 5 originals any good ?

I've also tried Insert the Action replay 2 disc

Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds

Press and hold the reset button - machine will boot

Menu screen will appear

Select START GAME (still holding reset)

Select WITHOUT CODES (still holding reset)

Let go of reset - tray will eject and stay open for 5 seconds

Swap Action Replay 2 disc with your PS2 backup

Press X as soon as the tray closes (important)

The game will now load

but still dosn't work

Youll need one of these original games, to boot it up, and the method used, taking into account that I have AR2.2 v1.92, is:

1.) Power up PS2 with AR2 Disc inside (Holding Reset)
2.) When it says 'Start Game' press 'X' and Eject (Still hoding reset)
3.) Put in the original game with a larger TOC than the backup and press Eject to close the CD tray (Still holding reset)
4.) Highlight 'Without Codes' and count to 10. Then let go of reset and press 'X'
5.) The tray will open, quickly put in your backup and just as the tray is about to close press 'X'
The game will now load.

I've got gta vice city to boot up using gran turismo 3
but the game stops very soon into it and a message come up saying "unable to read disc"
I've tried another copy but this does the same any ideas

is the original game only for booting up the copy ?
e.g once the game is booted up it will play ok?

Why do you need a original disc to be of the same size or greater than the copy ?

Sorry to be a rat, but I got GTA 3 Vice City DVD-R to boot directly on both of the PS2s in my signature.

Lizardking's table is very helpful to those who do not go for a no-swap chip.
