need help with Swap Magic if possible

Now, I know that if you get the Swap Magic with the flip tops, that if you get a pink border, that you cant play the game,(this is a DVDR) but if you have a Gameshark (2.01, and no not Action Replay) is there a way to swap DVDs, so I can play this?

you need the 2 swap magic disks ; one for CDs one for DVDs

Yes, if it's an original and you have the dongle inserted (plus a pre-V7 PS2 is needed, I think). Nightstalker's method for a 2.01, in the no-solder mod section of the boot procedures sticky, will work by doing a flip-top swap when it says "Do the R-mod swap".

You think thats BS..... Wait until you get the Swap Magic discs and then find out they WONT boot all games....

Then you will be really pissed....

it doesn't boot all games well that just pisses me off but how many games does it boot? and for the dvd rom games to i need to use a dvd-r disc or a cd-r disc because dvd discs are so damn expensive so i have heard that the swap discs only boot games under 650mg is that true? and also i don't know wich one of the stickies is for the swap discs so please tell me wich one to go to and ummm i thank all of you for your help because i have been trying to figure out how to burn games and play them and this site has been the most helpful out of all the others that i have been to.

swap magic discs only play older 1:1 copies,new games like splinter cell,tomb raider won't play with swap magic until a new swap disc called zoneloader is released.

thanks for the help, but my problem when trying to do a fliptop swap at the updating codes screen is that by lifting the top as the cd is spinning scratches the living hell out of the original DVD. Is the disk suppose to stop spinning at that time, or am I going to "sacrifice" one of my games as a boot disk?

Also, any info on this Zoneloader thing?

The disc should NOT be spinning when you do the flip-top swap part! It stops only briefly though when using this method (and maybe you'll be able to hear when that is, up close).

A better method that *might* work with a 2.01 is the "Dave Mirra trick", but it can be tedious to setup initially (as the "right number" of codes for your system need to be enabled; 77 works for some).

BTW, I trust you don't have a V7 or higher PS2.

Before you get in a fit over the games that will not work for the swap magic, take a look at the list of games that do not work with it. I have come across this list of games through perxonall experience and through what i have read on this site in previous posts.

As you can see, the list is somewhat long, but few desirable games are on the list. The only games I would be interested in are Hitman 2, Splinter Cell, and Tomb Raider (possibly Suikoden III).

So now I have a question, anyone have any more info on the "zoneloader" disc?

Should be available to buy next month from sites which sell the swap magic discs keep checking www.zoneloader.com for the release date.Nothing on the site yet but worth checking when its released.
