Unhappy Half-Life 2+Counter-Strike: Source RETAIL Offline Installation, Decryption+Execution

Hi.. This question is being asked in several threads but with no 100% working solution.

I have a 5 CD set(Original) of Half-Life 2 which naturally includes Counter-Strike: Source. My problem is I do not have any access to Internet from my gaming computer which is set in my dorm room. I want to install and run Half-Life 2 AND Counter-Strike: Source offline and I am willing to decrypt the files using any offline decrypter even if it takes 45 minutes or more.

How can I do so?

I would like some help regarding this matter.

I would also like to take your attention towards this thread.

<link removed>

If someone has tried this procedure please let everyone know whether it works or is it flawed.

If someone can mail me the attachments to prakhars(at)kis.ernet.in, I can verify it myself. My internet access features restrictions keeping me away from downloading files with *.exe, *.zip, *.rar etc. extenetions so I cannot download the attachments from the thread.

Please help me make this thread useful for everyone who wants to install and play Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source offline.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I am sorry, but there is no way around an internet activation of your software!
you have to get internet access to your computer, but only once. Once you have activated all software you can back it up and restore it if needed.

Valve gave a statement recently that soon enough phone call centers will be activated for people without internet to be able to activate HL2 through the phone.

Also, once you have connected to STEAM it may automatically start to update any games you have installed forcing you to wait for the update to complete! So if you are on a dial up it could take HOURS!!

I'm not sure if you can stop this automatic update via each games properties as you can only alter that once you have connected to STEAM, and I can't remember if the default setting is to automatically update or not?

I also think you must run each game at least once while connected to STEAM to enable offline mode.

Uhm, in the one and only (!) Half-Life 2 thread on this forum, it has been explicitly mentioned that you're not to talk about circumventing the Steam activation stuff here...
