Breath of Fire 4 USA/NTSC Anti-Mod patch?

I've exhaustively searched pretty much every http site that google can point me towards, and I can't find a patch for this game. (USA/NTSC Breath of Fire 4)
I've seen a few sites that mention it and have broken links, and I've seen others that have links to PAL fixes or PAL2NTSC or even JAP/NTSC fixes.... but I can't get my hands on that blasted USA/NTSC patch.

The problem is that it will play fine on my friend's stealth psx, and on my pc's psx emulator, but not on my neo4 modded ps2. It just goes black and hangs at the usual 'mod detect' screen. It does this for the American and Japanese (unpatched) versions, but not for any other game. (Patched JAP/NTSC works fine!)

Can anyone please help me? Maybe someone out there has a copy of that patch archived or knows a better place to find patches...I'd appreciate any help. Thanks....
