Call Of Duty 2
Original Poster: belveder
Post Date: 13-11-2005 1 : Make a folder called cod2 2 : Copy all files from all disks starting at disk 6 working back to disk 1 into the "cod2" folder you made, overwriting any files 3 : Use Orca to change all the install directories to cod2 (there's only 12) 4 : Put "No-CD Fixed EXE" from Game Copy World into a separate folder in the "cod2" directory. 5 : Burn the contents of the "cod2" folder onto a DVD using Nero or Roxio, naming the DVD "cod2" (without the "s) 6 : When installed, just copy the file from "No-CD Fixed EXE" into the installed game directory.

@KAINE
Here is the conversion in more detail: 1) Create a Temp folder on your harddrive. Name this folder: cod2 This will be the name (Label) of our DVD. 2) Copy all the contents from CD6 to the Temp folder. 3) Copy all the contents from CD5 to the same Temp folder. Overwrite any files if prompted. 4) Copy all the contents from CD4 to the same Temp folder. Again overwrite any files if prompted. 5) Copy all the contents from CD3 to the same Temp folder. Again overwrite any files if prompted. 6) Copy all the contents from CD2 to the same Temp folder. Again overwrite any files if prompted. 7) Copy all the contents from CD1 to the same Temp folder. Again overwrite any files if prompted. 8) Download and Install ‘Orca’ Once Orca is installed, Right Click the file ‘COD2.msi’ and from near the top of the menu choose ‘Edit with Orca’. (You may have to edit the properties of this file and untick the ‘read only’ attribute, but as it is copied to the harddrive it is probably already edited automatically). When opened you will see 2 window panes, go to the ‘Tables’ one on the left and scroll down to ‘Media’ Click on ‘Media’ this will show you the entries in the Right pane. Change all the entries in the ‘VolumeLabel’ column to: cod2 Then ‘Save’ it. 9) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc. NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want. 10) Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: cod2

?? Do have "Show known file extensions" ticked in windows options/settings?
Can you see any file extensions? EDIT: Seeing as this is your first conversion make sure you burn it to a DVD-RW first! That way you wont waste DVD's if you make a mistake or forget to add something to the DVD. Remember, the game wont play from the DVD!! You will need a NoCD/DVD crack to actually play!

Orca with Linux to edit .MSI
I'm attempting to do this using my Linux workstation and have installed Orca into a Crossover bottle. It seems to function correctly after I install a copy of mfc4u.dll in windows/system32/.
At first, I had an issue where Orca could not edit the database file at all and temporarily "fixed" that by changing the files permissions to the least restrictive with "chmod 777". Even so, I was unable to change each entry as instructed above. I was able to delete all but the first row, so I assume that, if successful, I should name the DVD volume "cod2cd1"? |

I know nothing about Linux so can not help you there, but I have attached the edited MSI file for you, make sure when you burn to a DVD you use the label COD2DVD, this is what the MSI Volume Label has been edited to.
