my ftp aint workin
i have the right settings
and took it off the passive
(port 20)
and uhh yea
its just not connectin and showin the drives
what could i do?

Try setting it to port 21. Do you have any firewalls on, like zone alarms?

when you have a firewall or anti virus app running, it usually puts a little icon on the right of the start bar, next to the date/time. If you have a firewall on, it would probably appear there.

Have you bean able to ftp at all? Just wanted to know if this was a sudden thing, or if you never got it to work before. If it is a suddon thing, then your firewall wouldn't have caused it, unless you configured it lately.

Last thing I can think of is that the ip has changed or the password and everything is wrong.

i tried what u said before to get faster speed, but that was at a friends house
on my comp
its never worked.....
if it is a firewall though, how wouldi go about disablin it?
like would it be in network properties at control panel or something?

IP address of the xbox-192.168.0.157
username-xbox
password-xbox
the dns' are fine
and the subnets are as they are on your site as well
my friend already installed evox for me..
but im still kinda pissed that the FTPin wont work on my comp

Its kinda hard ... too many unknown varibles from your end ..

1) .. under hardware settings, is your network card OK ( IE: no errors )

2) .. Are you connecting from the Xbox, through a hub, or direct to the PC.

3) .. do you know if your network cable is a crossed cable or normal.

4) .. have you tried your Xbox & cable in another location.

Try changing your network card and cable. I`m pretty sure without a hub, you need a crossover cable. ( I run through a Router, so i`ve never tryed )

well, you might want to turn your anti-virus thing back on if that wasn't the problem.

Most firewalls are normal apps, so they would appear somewhere in "programs" on the start menu. So, there is usually an option to turn it off under the firewall's shortcut.

Or, you could load up task manager (shortcut is pressing ctrl+alt+delete once for win98+). Go into the "Processes" tab and sort by user. One of the programs that are running under your username would be the firewall.

If you are having problems and don't see the firewall icon , it is less likely the firewall and more a hardware/pc settings problem.

what version of evox are you using? i got the lastest one today and after i start a game on it it resets all my settings on it, so i have to reset my ip address on my xbox

try looking in your settings on evox and see what its giving you

just above that in the blue it doesnt show any connection or anythin....

i dont see anythin with my log in name at the ctrl+alt+delete thingy, nor any firewall inthe bottom right of the screen...
maybe im just messin up at the start...
like whats the first thing to do? and after that? etc...

did you get to try the crossover cableat your friends house, or just the Xbox ..

I would have a better grasp on your problem, if it happend to me first, but honestly, i have high speed dsl, i just hooked up the xbox as in this tutorial, and away it went ..

Btu ... i still use the PC while networking to the X-box, no problems

You can get the connection going anywhere in evolution x. If you try it in a game it will simply not work.
