Colin Mcrae:Dirt 1.2. patch problem

When the 1.2. patch arrived, I went thank you God,because there was no point in playing the game if I had to start over,and over and over again.
So I did a fresh install and applied the patch and happily played for a while,exited the game and started it again and i still said that the save game was corrupt.Wasn' the patch supposed to fix that?
First I thought it was because i used the no dvd crack for 1.1. version
but then did another fresh install,aplied the 1.2. patch and used the original dvd,and still no save game.I'm at a loss here,so any help would be vastly appreciated.
I'm very close to throwing the game to the nether regions of the back of my shelf.
