Mage Knight Apocalypse - Startup crash

Hey, I recently bought the game.. installed it and updated to the latest patch. However every time I try to play I would get the game splash screen and then the screen would flicker and it would return to the desktop but still have the game running in the background, the only way to get out would be to ctrl-alt-del, the game would not be responding.

I have updated my vid card and sound card drivers but still no luck. I have disabled all third party programes and non essential processes to see if that helps but still nothing...

Ive found through searches that a few other ppl have had the same problems but no one has as yet figured out how to fix it. The game development/support team is just as useless as they don't even reply to other ppl's threads on their own site.

Any help or insite would be greatly appreciated.

However, other people might be able to help you on the official game support forum. (I'm not surprised that you don't get official help for your game; it's very similar with other software, too!)

My PC specs are all way above requirements and recommended specs for the game.

Also I have tried the official game forums. The game developers dont really know whats causing the problem either.. which is curious. Seems to be some sort of software incompatibility on certain systems. Ah well... no biggy.

yo bought the game yesterday installed it and downloaded the patch the game comes on and i can create a guy an stuff but when i click on the play button the whole thing just vanishes and it wont play any1 got any insights?

Your lucky I can understand you as im scottish.

Does it do the same without the crack? Are you using a crack with the game?

Have you updated your graphic card and sound card drivers?

Is your DirectX 9/10 up todate?

i have a patch for mage knight Apoc, and the crack, how do i go about using the crack, i have never used a crack and have no clue, can you help me out, thanks

In general, unpack the files from the crack package, overwriting those in the installation directory. (Make backups first!) Also, read the .nfo file attached to the crack for specific instructions.

when i try to do that it come up with a box with yellow triangles saying it cannot create that file, and i tried to unpack it into the program files/ namco bandai/mage knight folder

It probably asks you about overwriting the file, right? (Quote messages exactly.) Also, use a decent file manager (FAR Manager or Total Commander) instead of Windows Explorer and you'll get decent messages and comprehensible behavior.

I have this problems with ultimate spider man, i installed and when trying to play, i double click the shortcut and immediately it says Ult spider man has stopped working, and shuts down, i have tried all compatibility options and running as admin etc, there are no patches on the games site, any idea how i can make this work, could you have anything i could try .

There's much more to try than patches for the game. You should really read the PC Games forum FAQ (entry II/1) for general gaming solutions.
