CloneCD

I have CloneCd + Iomega 650 Burner. Do I need a patch for EA games (ie NBA Street). When you back up a game, should you see on the bottom of the blank CD a grove after the game has been written?

The IOMEGA 650 writer is a poor device for CloneCD and will not yield 1:1 copies of protected EA Games. Therefore you will need to patch such games as per published EA methods ( ####://www.eapatcher.com ). I promise you that an investment in a RAW-DAO + 96 burner will save you toil and grime.
