Who Wants To Be a Millionaire hacking problems
Does anybody know why 'Who wants to be a millionaire' fails to load after a rip?
I have used 'DAHACK 1st_read.bin <msinfo>' on the only bin file (other that ip.bin) and it does not boot. I have searched for CDE4 436A in hex editor and not found any matches. I have searched for 1032 0D8B and not found any matches there too. (this info was sent to me by 'Roadkill'). I did the 'Extract track03.iso track05.iso 364322' bit, but I did have problems receiving track04.raw.gz. But I presumed that not having audio tracks on the disk would make no difference to the game playing, is this where I went wrong perhaps? If anybody knows anything about this then please let me know. THANX Antony |

I tried the method you posted, but I got stuck on the last part.
When I ran 'BIN2BOOT', I assume that you meant 'BIN2BOOT DATA.ISO' ? When I ran this line the message appeared 'A record for IP.BIN could not be found.' I then burnt the data.iso to CD and tried to run it as a boot disk game, but it failed. I suspect that BIN2BOOT would only make the DATA.ISO file become selfboot anyway, (though I am open to information regarding this matter). The only thing I think may be wrong is that when dreamrip is ripping TRACK03.ISO.GZ at the end, the terminal screen fills with garbage (only after the file has finished transmission though). I find that I can't read the TRACK04.RAW.GZ file properly as the terminal screen fills with garbage during rip, at varying points. Even though I do use Rambooster. I have to reset to receive TRACK04.RAW.GZ and use the skip track method. TRACK05.ISO.GZ transfers with no problems at all, and the start sector is 364322. So after receiving the files to PC I then run POWERARCHIVER 2001 to ungzip the tracks. After ungzip is complete I use EXTRACT TRACK03.ISO TRACK05.ISO 364322 and files extract with no errors. Though if I ungzip TRACK04.RAW.GZ I find that after using RAW2WAV the file is just silence (no sound at all). So I don't include it when writing CD. Is this maybe where I am going wrong? Bye Antony |
