Converting Bin/Cue to Self-Booting CDI
What is currently the best way for one to convert a backup of a game (in this case, Crazy Taxi), from the BIN/CUE Utopia format to a selfbooting CDI?
I've tried a lot of different batch scripts, the Echelon guide, and a GUI or two, but I can't seem to get anything to work. The best I've gotten is the Audio.RAW to play on the Dreamcast (you know--the four seconds of silence). Anyways, any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

hehe dont say anything more
If the image is non cdda game like crazy taxi just copy all files to hd (mount cue in deamon or alcohol first) and use bootdreams (audio/data sheme) and this little proggy will make all job for you. Binhack your bins (1st_read and ip) to 11702 (or whatever lba your burner will burn first session) use bootdreams but dont scramble bin (use it only with homebrews.

Sweet. I'll try it out tomorrow and tell you how it goes. Thanks!
EDIT: Alright, I'm very limited on time, but you're basically telling to get Binhack and set my boot.bin and ip.bin to 11702. Then, run everything through bootdreams, and when I'm prompted for bin scrambling, I hit No. Is that right? EDIT 2: Wow. I just found out what I did wrong when I tried to do everything manually with Echelon's selfboot toolkit. When I ran Binhack, I inputted "0, 11702" as my msinfo number. Apparently, I was just supposed to input "11702". That's probably why it didn't work...well, this bootdreams is pretty cool anyways, so thanks a ton still. EDIT 3: OK. I did everything what I though was correctly. However, the game starts to boot up, but then hangs at "Loading Crazy Taxi (15K)". Is this normal? If so, how can I get it to continue booting (I left my DC on for an hour and it didn't ever load). |

Anyways, to selfboot BIN/CUE files, the easy way would be to use BIN2BOOT.EXE ... you can get bin2boot from my website, just check the dreamcast tools download page. |
