dreamcast boot cd

just inquiring about your boot cd's for dreamcast.
what files do you have to download how do you use (eg. copy to cd and get dreamcast to read it) and what is meant to happen when it actually does work. as i have had a go and only had failure. also what is the basic rundown? do you put the boot cd in then swap at some point in time or put the file at the start of a copied game? please help as i'm in despersate need. and another thing is a chip worth buying and installing or is the boot cd better.

p.s do you know of any other sights where i could find out if you don't and where can i get backup copies.
