CD recovery software
Hi all
I made a backup disk of all my important stuff and then reformatted my computer only to find (too late) that although I can see all the files on the disk I cant open them or copy them to my hard drive.I get a "cyclic redundancy check error" What gives? Can anyone suggest a good cd recovery program I could use on my backup disk? Thanks in advance |

CRC's are bad news.. The files are corrupted and obviously the burn didn't complete correctly (buffer underrun) usually. Sometimes the icons will be present but bits the actual data is missing. It's a long shot but this link names a couple programs you could attempt to use:

Note to others thinking the same thing, when you backup make sure the disc works before formatting
