Battlefield 2 Copy Protection
<RANT>
<IN SHORT="Game will not work with CloneCD installed, must be removed from system"> Downloaded the game to see if it was worth buyin, of course it was so I went out and bought it. Removed then installed again, said I wanted to go completely authentic first time round so unmounted the image and tried with the DVD in the drive. Oh oh, no can do, the usual "CD/DVD Emulation Software blah blah", so removed Daemon, no workies, removed Alcohol, no workies, reinstalled both renaming drivers, nope, unistalled both, removed anything remotely linked to both and it still didnt work. So, after much searching, I found someone had a problem with Pariah or something and the cause of his problem was CloneCD. I removed CloneCD and Battlefield started working but OH MY GOD, what a complete waste of time. Im sure there has to be some sort of legal implications for the game not to run for having a certain COMPLETELY LEGAL program installed and NOT EVEN RUNNING. I have no part of it running ever, nor have I ever, I tried killing every process on the machine bar explorer and that didnt do it so DigitalIllusions, sort it out please and stop giving me headaches. </RANT> |
