My Athalon 64 wont run old 32 bit games.

Im starting to notice problems running many older games on my 64 system, it says, 'processor not compatible', on several games, most importantly on Alien CrossFire (alpha centauri expansion pack).
Can I emmulate a 32 bit processor?

Well even a high end 32bit CPU wont run all games, but dont forget even WindowsXP wont run everything.

i seem to remember you CAN emulate them, first of all if its an old msdos game which i think that game is, just get a dos emulator like dosbox, also search in google for 32bit processor emulator for athlon 64

I thought Older AMD 64-bit chips were unable to run them, like the older intel's.

Anyways, AMD has chipset drivers that you probably need to upgrade on. Search their site for them (my laptop needed this). If you are trying to install 32-bit drivers at all, they won't work (most of the time).

Windows XP x64 has a WOW32 emulator.

Its complete pants :P


But the OS loves recent games, I noted a huge improvement especially with memory hungry games like

C&C Generals/ZH
FarCry
Doom3

All ran smoothly and better than the XP pro
