Help required DuoX 2 Cromwell/FlashBios Edition

hi bit info equired about the duo x2 mod chip. i normally chip ps2s but asked to fit a duo chip to xbox, very easy but the chip has no bios? don't know why the chip comes like this, anyway i have been sent two bios x2_4983.06_256k.bin & x2_4983.67_256k.bin. what banks to these need to go to? a right pain in the arse...
is it possible to download a file straight to a disk to flash bios rather than make dummy files, etc...
any help welcome

The chips don't come with hacked MS bios because it is illegal. Meaning MS would come after the retaillers for selling copyrighted material.

The flash banks do not matter. There are 2 banks so that you can have 2 versions of hacked bios on the chip. Use the .06 bios if you have the origianl HDD or the upgraded on is less than 250gb. Only use those bios if the xbox is NOT a version 1.6 or above.

However, since the flash banks are at least 512k, I wouls suggest looking for the X2_5035.06 bios instead. They are more customizable and do not need to be edited through hex.

Now, if you have a router, just hook up your xbox and PC to it. Then, choose to "setup network" in the flash bios screen. It should give an IP that you could connect to.

Sorry to destroy your great suggestion here Quall but I would recommend to NOT use the X2 5035 bios on a DuoX2... There have been several problems reported using that bios on a DuoX2. Some had luck and got it working other found themselves in a tough position and had to get a programmer to reprogram the flash to get it started again...

Personally I like the iND bios series... Especially the iND-5003beta, that simply makes my day...
Works like the X2 5035 bios with a config file but is only 256kb instead of 512kb, thus you can have a very reliable backup bios on the other bank (like EvoX M8 or similar). If is is an 1.6 xbox I would say get the EvoX M8+ bios and use that.
If it is not get iND or the X2 4983 (tough I prefer 4981 as they are editable).
Other than that I think the DuoX2 is a great chip and comes at a small price.

Thanks for the advice the xbox is a version 1.4 with orig h/drive. I will use the bios i already have as it is very hard to find. One point, as the banks are 512k would i have to load two sets of 4983.06_256k.bin using programme X2BM v2.3 or just one set?

I think that you should change the size on the binaries so that they fits your banks... Meaning you will have to convert from 256kb to 512kb if that is the size of the bank.
There is a program made to do that, gotta see if I can find it and give you a link to it.

Should not be any problems to post that link here right? It should not be illegal in any way... or?

Finally cracked it, loaded two sets of the same bios, works ok. thanks for good advice

Can someone email me a duo x2 bios as the last one i got corrupted the bank with cromwell on and i dont know how to recover it so ive switched to the flash bios bank
