PS2 Help Eject Fault

Hi Guys

I am in need of your HELP!! Well I have a PS2 PAL SCPH 30003R, and I have a FAULT with my EJECT BUTTON:

1. It won't light up when you switch the PS2 on, The Power/Reset Button lights up but not the EJECT Button, also the Tray don't open

2. There is no picture on the screen even the Browser Menu, I would have thought the Browser Menu should display on my screen, I did notice the screen jumps when-ever I turn on/off the PS2 which may indicate the PS2 will only work once the eject button lights up.

Now what I was thinking was I need a new RIBBON, would you guys agree, I mean everything eles seems ok. Oh by the way it's chipped but I dont see any reason why the chip should effect the button, I noticed lots or tangles on the Ribbon cable it was folded like 3 times.

Can anyone please give me their honest and professional HELP on this matter because I really wanna play on my PS2 while I'm off work

Cheers.
