About to lose it

Long story short...I need help. I have Utopia v1.1, I have the burned game I am trying to get to work. Everything seems to be fine, no errors or missing files on either of them. I load up Utopia, switch it with my disc (Record of Lodoss War, in this instance), and the reindeer switches to the silverish texture with the image of a bald guy screaming or whatever in the background. I'm assuming this is the loading screen?

Anywho, it just won't load. 40 minutes, and all it does is 'twitch' as if it's trying to read. I have an .nrg file, I use Nero to burn it, and it does so without any errors at all. In fact, I'm going by-the-book on the whole process, which is why I don't understand why it won't work.

ANY help is appreciated. I realize this is rather newbie-ish, and that asking a question right after registering might even make me a jackass...but the fact is I just don't understand why it won't work, and it's slowly driving me insane.
