Ripping PS2 Movie Files

Does anyone have any tools or information about ripping the movies from a PS2 game? I dont care about PSS format movies, I know hwo to rip those but only like 10% of PS2 games use that format. Most games use their own format or put all the movies into one file, like a movies.dat (metal gear solid 2), movies.pak (guilty gear XX) split the entire game into many identical files (Chobits), or they dont even show your the files on the dvd (Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts). Does anyone know of any way to rip these kinds and other kinds of movies? I know its possible because I have seen these movies ripped straight off the source files before (not with a capture card) but I googles for days and cant find any info on it.

For Square games, go here
those tools are for Japanese version although some of them also works with US version.
Also there's forum for Square FMVs in here (they are not very polite )

Also you can create image from game disk with Isobuster and then scan it for mpeg files with Extractor 2.4
and extract those .mpg file and rename them to .pss , I successfully extracted movies from Gran turismo 3, Fatal frame II, US FFX-2, US unlimited saga, however after scannig the movies.dat in metal gear and zone of the enders, it gave me several invalid mpg files
also in games like splinter cell that all movies are in one file, you can seperate them with this extractor.

I found a extractor for ZOE but the extracted files dont work

And thanks for telling me how to find the movies on squaresoft games

Now if I can just figure out the others, I know its possible since I have seen it done in before, both the movies and music were ripped and reencoded

And by the way, what do you mean by seperate movies that are all in 1 file like splinter cell?

If you play the file named "SCM_N.IMG" in the splinter cell disk with media player, you'll see several different movies in this file,
you can seperate them with that extractor.

Couple reasons

1. I prefer to view them on my computer

2. For future squaresoft games that store movies like this but dont have a movie viewer feature

3. And all the other non-squaresoft games I mentioned that nobody has told me how to extract yet
