Need For Speed Underground NO/CD None work

Can anyone enlighten me about why none of the no/cd patches work on my computer all of them crash at speed2.exe when i first start the game. I have looked all over this forum and everyone keeps asking but no one has gave an answer or a suggestion. I have windows xp pro sp1a. What should I do to resolve this issue thanks.
