Just a quick question

I just had a friend burn me a couple games. Tony Hawk 2 and Ferrari 355. I surfed on over to this site and I noticed something in the forum about the boot disk. Do I have to have this disk to play these games or is a self boot burned disk already ready to play? Sorry if this is in error but I couldn't find the bigPoppa post.
