That's all we use here at work and I have a few at home. Good computers, never had a problem. Great prices. I can't even build one for that cheap. Windows XP alone is $100. Wait till they have good free offers like free shipping and free flat panel upgrade. They have different specials every week I think.

DO NOT Buy a dell with integrated video as they will give you a motherboard with no AGP slot. Always go with a video card option. Also remember that you will not be able to upgrade the motherboard later with one you buy off the shelf. The motherboard and case are propietary. Dell computers are pretty much disposable but they are cheap enough to do that.

Yeah I found this out the hard way, I never heard of a motherboard that has no ISA slots and at the same time no AGP slot.. but i guess it exists.

That's because dell give you the crappy HOME edition which is 50 USD.
XP Pro is 200 USD.

The thing is, everytime you buy a computer from them, they charge you for a new windows.
If you change computers often, you're better off building one yourself.

My experience is this:
I tried to put my old gf4ti4600 card in my wife's PC. No AGP slot. I said ok, buy a new motherboard. Doesn't Fit. Ok. Go to Barebones.com or whatever website that sells motherboard+CPU+case combos. Bought extra ram (cause the old PC had SDR SDRAM which I couldn't find anywhere)
Now I have 2 PCs with one monitor.
Eventually I bought a new monitor, so we can both work at the same time.
Her PC is fine for what she uses it for, but it's not for gaming.
Oh and their cases have no room for extra hard drives. that's a big bummer.

I did not like dell or any other "brand name".
Your experience may vary.

Dell is "provably" the biggest system seller in the UK.

If you don't use tech support, then why waste extra money on a brand name?
