Cannot identify cd protection?

I am currently reading up on this, and am still new. I have tried to identify the cd protection on a game that I own, but I have tried both clonyxxl, and protectionID v5.0b, and both say they cannot identify protection. But Alcohol120 cannot make an image of disk 3, and I have tried a few of the options available, Securom, securomNew, and some others, all to know avail.
I am still reading, and will continue, but any helpful pointers in the right direction for some info would be greatly appreciated
thanks

S

I'm sure if you tell us the name of the game someone will tell you the protection on it.

Splinter Cell is protected with Safedisc2.
Make a backup of this with Alcohol 120% and it's Safedisc2 profile.
Errors up to sector ~12000 are normal for this protection.

I am pretty sure it's sd2.8

Use either a120 or CloneCD/hide cdr media. The fixed exe also works.
