Athena Sword CD error

I have purchased AS and attempted to install it with my DVD drive, it got setup ready to go and then says insert the correct CDROM. So I tried the CDRW, but this also came up with the same error.
I went to ubi support and their answer to this is..

First off, please note that CD-RW drives are not supported for the game and may be causing disk read problems. Secondly, any CD-ROM emulation software you have installed may also be the problem. If you have any of these programs (Daemon Tools, Clone CD, Alcohol 120%, etc), we recommend you disable this software when you want to play the game. In some cases, disabling it is not enough and you may need to uninstall the software in order to play the game.

What the?! Can't use a CDRW to install?! Ubisoft are apparently selling $40 drink coasters now in the form of Athena sword.

I can understand them wanting to protect their software but when you can't read the original, that a bit poor.

Can anyone help me with this.

Interesting and confusing to say the least, and it doesn't make any sense. Can you just open up your disk and remove to a seperate folder (copy/paste) and install from the folder then.

Gave it a go but it is still checking the for the CD drive, despite the fact Im not installing from CD.

Same error. Cannot locate CDROM.

Maybe I'll network someones PC with a CDROM to mine and see if that works.

Thanks for your help though
