Problems with Backups, High TOC games

Hi All,

I seem to be having some problems with backing up my PS2 games which have 4.3gb or above TOC.

The backups will load and play however I notice the laser is making a mouse squeeky noise, like it can;t find certain information on the dvd-r. When this happens loading times takes ages and FMV or movies jerk and sometimes will not play at all.

I was using media like Shintaro and other lesser known brands (if i backup games with 4gb or less TOC the games player perfectly all the way through.

However I have used Verbatim dvd-r with large TOC with no probs. Does that mean it is a media problem? I tried TDK (iteam code DVD-R47EA) and the same problem happened.

I noticed some good priced Ritek;s on ebay, anyone have experience with large TOC games and riteks?

Is the problem I have having a known problem? Or is there something wrong with my setup?

I am using a AO4 burner with firmware 1.41.

Thanks for your time and I hope you guys can give me some advice .
