Game Shark 2 v.1.6

I have been using a modchip I got from modchip.com and the game shark 2 v1.4 to boot my games and this setup worked fine. I accidentally broke my GS cd and I need a new one. I saw on the gameshark web site that the only CD they are selling is v1.6, will this one still load all my games or do I need to try and find an older one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the GS2 v1.6 and I can't get any of my copies to boot up. I never had the GS2 v1.4 so I don't know if my copies will boot at all. I have tried different media and different programs, (cdrwin, cd clone, neo) and I can't get them to boot. I am using the Neo USB mod chip. I have been wondering if the v1.6 may not boot right. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys,
I'm using the USB Neo Key and the gameshark 1.6 and it works just fine for me the only time I've found it doesn't is if you flick the switch at the wrong time i.e. not immediately after the PS2 logo dissappears - hope this helps

Could you type in the process exactly as you do it with timing and everything. I have tried every variation of booting from several sites and several postings and I get nothing. When I do a switch I can hear the backup start to boot up and then it stops and system locks at loading. I have used different copy methods to make these disk. So if you could do this for us it would be GREAT!!!! I know this is time consuming but I had bought a PS2 V4 and was making a bunch of backups while I was getting it moded. Then when it was done I bought GS2 V1.6 and I can't get any of them to boot. My PS1 boot fine.

Ok this is what i do and it works every time for me:
All my copies are made with either Nero5 burned exactly as the tutorials say or for EA games using clone CD and the EA patcher, media is either memorex or sony and i burn at 8X which is as fast as my burner will go.
I have the Neokey in USB1 and the GS2 in the 2nd memory card just because a couple of games don't seem to recognize the memory card in slot 2 for some reason although it does work either way for booting.
To boot press the eject button (the PS2 should be at standby) insert the GS2 1.6 disc (make sure that the switch on the neo key is all the way to the left or down depending on which way you have your PS2 set up) then press the reset button. Wait until the PS2 logo appears then immediately after the screen goes black flick the switch on the Neo Key. You should now load the GS2 menu. From there, hit start game, then without codes, when it says to insert the disc press eject and insert your backup, wait for it to recognize the disc (for me the CD spins for a short time then stops) then press the X button and your off, it should load as normal - some games do take a while but they all load.
If this doesn't work for you i don't know what to suggest other than checking the soldering or your burner.
Fingers crossed
Daz

I have a ntsc ps2 with internal mod chip and gameshark 1.6.
All my backed up games run perfectly.
The only trick is with EA games.
For them to work, I have to press R1 + R2 +circle after I insert the game disk.
Maybe if you try it with your other games, they'll work?
