XP or Win 2K ????

My friend copied a dvd for me it worked fine using clone dvd, and it works on my dvd player, he uses win XP, i made a copy of it in nero ...... i use win 2k..... it wont work on my dvd player, but it works on my neighbours number 2.. it didnt work on my neighbour numer 1, my neighbour number 1 took 1 of my blank dvd;s using win xp he made a copy, it works on mine.. but my copies wont work on his machine... to summerize.
my copies wont run on my dvd player, or my neighbour Number 1,s dvd player, done in Win 2K
my copied dvd's will run on neighbour number 2's dvd player.
neighbour number 1 did a copy of a movie using one of my blank dvd's in win XP, it works fine........
should i upgrade to win XP ????? not if i can help it.. hope u can help

Your windows version shouldnt matter. You may wanna try out RecordNow Max to burn your dvds because some burning programs will give you probs.

the only thing i cant get my head round is the fact that 2 people who use XP have burnt and viewed, and i have viewed them............... but not them me........ btw i have the new optorite DD0401 cud that be the prob? i just cant view my own rips on player, only on pc, and only 1 neighbour can view my rips...

Try this as well:

When making your dvd backup make sure there is an AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder in there. With all your files in the VIDEO_TS folder. Your AUDIO_TS folder will be empty but some home dvd players actually look for the AUDIO_TS folder before playing the disc.


Yours may be that kind of player.

Ok. i thankyou for the input. BUT.... when using clone, is there a selection, it normaly defaults to the video-ts can 1 choose 2 dir's, and if i cant sort this can u guide me to the proggy u mentined b4... many thanx for your response, i realy appreciate it.
