Modchips!!!

I'm new to dreamcast copying and am wondering do i need a modchip within the machine to play backups or is there another way?
Simple question i know but humour a beginner please.

Also does anyone know of anywhere on the net with any help files on backing up dreamcast games. I know that you cant simply copy them like psx games.

Thanks

No you don't need a modchip there is one but it not needed. There are two types of back-ups one boots by its self like a normal dc rom and the other need a boot disk. The boot disk can be found anywhere backs can be downloaded. You can not make your own back-ups without making hardware to link the pc to dreamcast.
