About DVD-9 games

Are there ever going to be a burner that is capable of making a 1:1 copy of a dvd-9 game like xenosaga? Thx

There is something called blue ray discs coming out that hold massive amounts of data(likely gonna be ps3 games). Eventually a burner might be made for these discs. Say that does happen. You can record Xenosaga on one of these discs but there will be a media check that won't allow you to play the game because it isn't on a dvd, but on a blue ray disc.

Another reason is that a "TRUE" dvd-9 disc is NOT burned.......

Its "pressed"......

They take a single layer, press it to a disc, then take a second layer, and press it over top of the first layer...

Of course the is OVERSIMPLIFYING the matter....

But no burner would be able to burn a lower surface with data, then "raise the burn" and burn above the other and still have the lower data readable.....

Eventually yes, but almost all dvd movies are dvd9 already. They can be copied with a compressing program or by splitting it onto two discs.
