Lite-On 48125W failing! help!

Before christmas i bought a Lite-On 48125W and it worked fine. A couple of months later it started failing when I switched it over to another computer.

When it burns in Nero it often stops at 4 percent, spinning up and down repeatedly. After a while I get an write error message saying "could not complete End Track" or something similiar. I have tried different speeds and different media. The only way it works is at 8x.

I have installed aspi layer 4.6 - still dont work.
I have disabled win xp built in burning - still dont work.
The drive is in DMA mode.

I have disconnected my DVD drive and connected my burner as single master on the IDE channel but it doesn't help.

What is wrong? I'm starting to beleive i have a faulty drive. Please help!!

Tim

Hi

I had a similar problem with my Lite-on 48246S burner. I fixed it by installing the latest nforce2 drivers. If your m/board has an nforce graphics chip you might want to try this.

Good luck.
