GTA Vice City: NOCD doesn't work?

I have a full install of GTA:VC (UK version, running on W2K), but none of the 'NO-CD' cracks on GCW seem to work. After the Rockstar Games logos I get dumped back to the desktop with "GTA-VC.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows".

Have searched the forum for solutions with no luck

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: Seems to be a problem with Macrovision on my drive. Macrovision not mentioned anywhere on the game packaging. Haha, last time I buy anything from Rockstar.
