Don't worry about it friend!,this can be a common occurence when reading SD2 protected discs. It can sometimes take up to 8 hours. It varies from burner to burner but there's not a lot that can be done I'm afraid.
It is usually worth the wait though,as long as you know your burner can copy SD2 discs.

8 hours normal? Not quite the truth.....

your burner should NOT take 8 hours to read a safedisc 2 protection. i backed up the sims today. it took 3 minutes to rip and 6 to burn (at 10x). Dont those sound like better numbers?

What I used was this fancy little program called CdMate. You use Clony Tools to identify what type of protection is on the cd you are going to copy, and then select that type of protection in CdMate. CdMate then automatically configures itself to make a copy of your CD, and does one helluva job too.

Hopefully Luckygoldstar isnt holding you back, but their burners have loads of trouble with all the bad sectors that are up front on safedisc2. try a phillips, they work wonders.

Some burners can take a very long time to read the bad sectors. Even newer ones.
Make sure you have "fast error skip" ticked in READ, and consider using Daemon tools "fast dump" feature, which works just as well for sd1 as sd2.
