I can't get my BbA to work with DCLoad-IP
I've been trying for months now, to get my BbA to work with dcload-ip.
I bought a crossover cable, (since I'm not using a hub), or at least I think it's a crossover cable. It was in a package saying "crossover cable" on a shelf labeled "crossover cables" with a price tag saying "crossover cable", but on the actual cable it says "Type CM ETL CAT 5 PATCH Cable". Anyway, I've read all the tutorials I could find on the subject, and I've gotten nowhere with them. I've tried using dc load-ip 1.0.0, dc load-ip 1.0.3, and I've tried using BBRip v1.0, and BBRip v1.1. I can't find v1.2 anywhere with an active link... and I doubt it would make any difference. I've tried setting the PC IP address to 192.168.0.1 like some of the tutorials recommend... I've tried using the IP address that I see when I check it the command prompt in Win98, 169.254.240.162, and about every combination that I can think of. I've tried it with and without ARP. I've exhausted every idea I have had from reading the tutorials. Can someone tell me comprehensibly what I need to do to get this darned thing to work? It's really got me frustrated. I would really appreciate some help with this and I thank you in advance for any of your time. Regards, -Ex |
