PS2 parts

Need some help here. I need to know where I can get a new DVD-Rom, and a power board for a Ver5 PS2.

A buddy of mine is an apartment manger and while he was checking an apartment after the guy had left he found a PS2 just sitting there, power cord, AV cables, even the manual.

Any way, I was over at his place last night and I saw this PS2 all apart and I was like WTF you doing here. Got over to it and saw the DVD-Rom was all shot to hell and the base had a hole like the last owner got pissed and took a flat-head screw driver to it. Put a hole through the case and into the power board. My guess is he got pissed it wouldn’t eject a game or some thing from the looks of the DVD-Rom, and when he couldn’t get that out he took a screw driver to the case.

The main board and every thing else look okay. So all it needs is a new DVD-Rom and a power board. I’m hoping these can be bought online fairly cheap.

So I told my buddy I would see what I can find.

Thanks

They have power boards at www.modchip-sbox.com for v1-v4. Another good place to look is on the ps2newz.net buy/sell/trade board.

Would a Ver4 power board fit right with a Ver5?
