Backup Microsoft software
Hi all,
i'm trying to backup microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia Deluxe 2000 using CloneCD 4.2 and have Clonyxl also installed, i'm reading from a Goldstar CDROM drive to an image file on disk, Clonyxl told me the disk is an Audio disk but its an installation disk and I think the cd protection is SafeDisk, can any one tell me why this is please! Also CloneCD is taking a donkey's age to make the image file, after 30 mins it only had 2% copied, is this normal? at that rate it would 25 hours to copy 300000kb. Have installation cd's to be copied in a special way like do they need extra settings, at the moment i'm choosing Protected Game option when asked by CloneCD what type of cd it is. Any reply appreciated. |

Generally applications don't use any copy protection at all. But try using cdkiller's copy protection detector >> www.cdkiller2002.tk << to scan the exe.
It may be that your cd is dirty or badly scratched, or the laser in your cd-rom is a bad reader. Try cleaning the cd with a soft cloth, rubbing from the inside to the outside (not circular). And try a different cd-rom if you can.
