Introduction of a newbie (just made first copy, Max Payne)

Hi everyone, I tried all night trying to make a back up of Max Payne and finally got a good copy. For some reasons, Nero nor clonecd wouldn't read the original cd. I figured out to check "skip fast error" thingy... and it finally read, took me all night to figure that out. buttt... the forum help, so thanks majorly to everyone. Can someone explain why it wouldn't read the original cd in the first place? I am new at this, not too harsh please, thanks

Hi,

I'm a bit of a CD copying newbie too but from what I can work out some CD's are deliberately made with damaged sectors so most commercial proggys won't copy them (or it'll take so long that you'd give up.) What I can't figure out is though, sometimes when I've sucsessfully made a copy of a CD it won't pass the CD protection when I try to play with it.

P.S. Max Payne, cool game, shame it takes longer to copy than finish though ;P

Some protection liek Max Payne has very strong Portection and only a few burners can correctly write incorrect data or damaged or what ever they do to that data. So even if you made a image and then copied it it might not work depending on what burner you have.

Reading it is also the problem, when using normal reader it won't allow it to be read and copied. Clonecd uses speciall technique to get around this. I don;t know much about the technical detail.
