PS2 burning question - HELP!

hi i just got my ps2 modded, don't know which chip, but they said i can play all backups even EA sports, anyway, i've been burning these backups which i assume are patched already, and they all load halfway and then the unit freezes!, i'm doing the gameshark thing loading it with R1 and O button. it loads, then freezes before i can play anything. i've even burned at 1x on CDRWin and used different brand CD's. Anyone have any ideas! PSX stuff works fine. Please HELP!!!

i've gotten 2 suggestions from others i've spoken with. Calibrating the laser or different cdr media. I tried searching this forum but could someone tell me what the best cdr brand i should get to burn these things before i try calibrating the laser, it sounds difficult to do!!

I don't reckon you need to calibrate your laser if some ganes work OK. You need only be concerned that:

1 Your burner is compatible with CloneCD and CDRWin
2 You use the settings in the tutorial
3 You use good media (like Verbatim coated) if you have a cheap burner
