How did you try backing this up? Did you try using RecordNow Max or PrimoDvd to make a direct copy? You can use either of these programs to burn your patched img file made by ppf-o-matic. Look here

Fade Protection does not affect a 1:1 copy (aka dvd to dvd-r)...

It WILL affect a dvd-rip..... (aka dvd to cd-r)

The patch you are referring to is for the dvd-rip.....

There is NO patch needed for a 1:1 copy (at least not for fade protection)

dvd to cdr uses a rip kit.

U have to find the particular rip kit for each game. Can be a long and tedious process and u usually lose some video sequences or titles from the game in order to make it small enough to fit on a cdr.

If u got a method of 1:1 copying dvd to dvd-r u r much better off doing it that way.

Thanks for that, i think i will stick 2 1 : 1, can you also answer me this, i'm using nero to copy my PS2 game onto my hard drive, then burn it from the image, all using my dvd writer as i have not got a seperate dvd rom yet. Now all my games have been fine apart from lma manager 2002, it copys onto my hard drive, then i can write it onto dvdr but when i goto play it nothing, not even the playstation 2 words come up, just the screen with a gold disc. Do some games detect a dvd writer so will i need a seperate dvd rom to read onto my hard drive or just use another program??

Again, many thanks

well, two things to consider: firstly Nero is okay for backing up but I had a few probs with it and switched to Stomps Record Max Now and this works fine every time.

Secondly, what dvd-r media r u using. PS2 is very picky about what it will read, sometimes you can use a particular media for lots of games and then a particular game it will have a struggle with.

For perfect back-ups every time use Traxdata, DVDMaster or Ritek dark purple.

Good luck. Give us a shout if u have any more probs.
