PS2 not playing any DVD discs now.

After installing a Messiah2 PRO. I got the "blue" screen. So i removed the wires to the chip, and taped em all. Still blue screen. So i then assumed i killed this PS2. So i then removed the chip, and everything i put in it.
To my joy, it then worked. But it gets "...reading disc" for a minute, till "read error" on all DVDs. PS2 games/copies, DVD movies/copies. But it seems to play music cds, and Playstation 1 games fine.
Could this be a reader error, or maybe a short on the motherboard?

its a short on the ps2 board most likely on pints mnop qtuvrw

could also be abcdefghi

dvdr not booting is normally r or w so check these first
r is very clos to v possibly bridged these two points
