Exclamation Getaway - white fade outs, slow load times, freezing

This is going to sound strange, but I solved these problems by turning my PS2 on it's side. To be more clear, the PS2 can be setup lying flat with the CD tray horizontal, or it can be setup on it's side with the CD tray vertical. My problems were solved when I setup the tray vertically. I have experienced no problems with Getaway since doing that.

Don't know why this is. Maybe the laser can read the DVD better this way?!?! Don't know if this will work for others either. Hope it does.

probably the laser has loosened from it's optimum azimuth adjustment. So on its edge gravity is perpendicular to what it was before in respect of the lens.
