Flight Simulator 2002

I have a legally bought copy of Microsoft Flight sim 2002 I am trying to copy the game as I'm in the military, and will be taking the game overseas with me I paid almost 80 dollars for the 3 cd's I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE MY ORIGINALS I have tried numerous diffrent programs to extract the image file off the first cd, and so on, and NOTHING works I use nero to burn, I have tried to use it to make the image, I have tried Clone cd, Blind write, and a couple of others. ALL OF them totally freeze my computer at or around 6 percent of creating the image. i have even tried to burn a direct on the fly copy, and it does exactly the same thing. I have researched the topics of copy protection, And I believe the disk I have are using Safedisk Can anony tell me how to get around the freeze up.

Does the game itself still work ? Can you successfully install and run the game from those originals ? The game should be safedisc 1 protected, which about every burner should be capable of burning. Which OS are you using ? Have you tried making an image of other games' cd's to see if it's a general problem ? Have you succesfully copied something else lately ?

yes, the cd's are copy protected, i already ran cloney xxl on them, I have tried direct on the fly copying, and iamge on the fly, meaning it creates, and reads the image at the same time its making the cd and I have tried ripping the image alone for later burning, I have tried most programs that normally do not have trouble copying games i have tried two difrent machines, one running an atlon xp 2200 running XP, and a athlon 950 running XPI have tried the 2200 on the Liteon DVD drive, the Atapi Rom drive, and the Acer RW drive, and all three drives Have failed. The other machine is using a Liteon Rw, and a atapi Rom, and both drives on that machin do eactly the same thing.

All you want to do is take some backups overseas, yeah?? Instead of running around trying to make perfect 1:1's, which you are clearly having trouble with, why not just use the Temp Directory method??

I'm going to be in Japan for 3 to 5 years, heck i might build a new system, Surely will have to format, and just want copies of my game. Since Microsoft Assumes all its customers are Pirates they have made it virtually impossible to make a prefectly leagl copy of your own software. I do not plan on taking ANY of my orginal disk with me, not even my own personally burned music disk. Fortunatly Flight sim 2002 Does not require the cd to be in the drive to play the game, but who knows, my system might get destroyed in shipment, along with tons upon tons of other reasons for wanting to back my cd's up.

You can alter the speed that CloneCD uses to read the cd. I asked if the originals still worked because it seems to indicate a dodgy (i.e. broken) disc. Next time You use Clonecd to read to an image file, select the "game cd" profile, right click on it and select "Edit...". You can now change the reading speed, set it to 1x so it will select the lowest speed your drive can handle. It's possible that this will allow you to finish making the image, where full speed (10 times faster) would get stuck on an error. Try this and tell me if it still crashes. And is it a real crash ? In other words, are you unable to do anything but reboot ? Or does only the CloneCD program seem to be stuck ?

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Let it be known to anyone concerned, that clea45622 is the most clueless twat ever to set foot on this board. No, he ain't a pirate which is a terrible shame because he's clearly overqualified for the 'other' criterium of my "Dumb Pirate Of The Month Quote". If you wonder what all the fuss is about, read this thread to see what else he posted since he obviously can't distinguish the "Post Reply" button from the "New Thread" button. I'd like to state for the record that I sincerely regret every single second of my time and watt of electricity I've spent in this thread trying to help this ungrateful little sod. I do hope that he gets shipped to Japan PERMANENTLY and gets an aircraft carrier, or something else that approaches his ego in size, dropped on his precious pc. Maybe then we'll be safe from the worst neanderthal to visit this board since 100000 BC.

Now I'm outta here before I get REALLY upset.

Might ? I wouldn't settle for 'might' here. God that loser really got on my nerves. Based on what he was telling us I was expecting him to be some clueless newbie, but not THAT clueless. And arrogant, oh my ! I didn't know the US was at war with Japan these days, but they must be because sending such a dumb, arrogant pimple on the butt of civilization over there is guaranteed to be a provocation of the grandest scale. Now let's hope we get back to our usual supply of 'regular' clueless newbies, because I sure can't take another one of these super-twats this week.

You'll have to ask clea45622, I'm not sure if he wants to share his cushy job as a supertwat with you

Everybody can be a bit dumb sometimes. But only the greatest dumb asses make a career in the military of it, and visit web boards to prove just how dumb they really are. Anyway I think I'm going to get some sleep. Mr clea45622 has profoundly drained my energy reserves with his mindless idiocy. Memo to self : consult a dictionary and thesaurus first thing tomorrow morning to see what else we can call mr clea45622.

PS : What languages do you guys get taught these days ?
