Backing up DVD games

Newbie needs info on how to backup DVD games for PS2. Could somebody send me info on how to do this... hopefully the easy way of doing this. I've got CloneCD, CD & DVD reader and a CD burner. Is it possible to copy a DVD to a CD?
What does it mean to make a PS2 burn kit? I downloaded a program for it, but I'm not understanding. I need LOTS of help, hopefully somebody here can assist me before I go out of my mind. Any links, hints... anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
